Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Collapse of Dublin Houses.

45.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Local Government if, having regard to the serious public uneasiness following the recent collapse of houses in Bolton Street, Dublin, he will have a public inquiry made into the cause of the collapse; and if he will ensure that, whenever old houses are demolished, adequate steps are taken to prevent the collapse of any houses with which the demolished houses were formerly connected.

An investigation of the circumstances of the collapse of the house in Bolton Street is being carried out by the Dublin Corporation, and I am awaiting a copy of their report.
