Vol. 203 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mountrath (Laois) Estate.

63.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is proposed to divide the estate of the late Mr. Edward Dunne, Moonbawn, Mountrath, County Laois, amongst the local smallholders and deserving applicants; if this holding has been acquired by the Land Commission; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Land Commission recently instituted proceedings for acquisition of these lands, comprising some 34 acres, but it is still too early to say what the outcome will be. Until the acquisition proceedings have concluded, it is not possible to indicate when allotment will be feasible.
