The Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts at present receives free facilities for its annual exhibition in the National College of Art. Furthermore, the planned extension to the National Gallery of Ireland, the entire cost of which will be borne by the Exchequer, will contain space for temporary exhibitions.
In these circumstances I do not feel that the provision of a special exhibition hall for the Academy should take precedence over such projects as, for instance, a new National Library and the making of additional accommodation available to the National Museum.
