asked the Minister for Local Government if he will outline the progress made, up to the latest convenient date, by the National Building Agency set up under his Department, indicating where and for whom houses have been built.

To date, the National Building Agency Limited has undertaken to provide or assist in the provision of 240 houses for industrial concerns at various centres throughout the State. Of these 70 houses are completed or substantially completed.

The Agency is also engaged in the provision of housing for the Garda Síochána. Under this programme sites are being or have been acquired for 349 houses and contracts have been entered into for the erection of 178. Further contracts are being arranged. The houses are being provided at widely dispersed areas in all counties.
