asked the Minister for Local Government what expenditure was incurred by local authorities on water and sewerage schemes in 1961-62 and 1962-63, the expenditure to be segregated as to capital and revenue.

The estimated expenditure of local authorities on water supply and sewerage schemes in 1961-62 was approximately £3,453,000 made up of capital expenditure of £1,920,000 and revenue expenditure of £1,533,000. Figures for 1962-63 are not yet available.

Are even approximate figures available for 1962-63?

No. Even for the year before, the figures are only approximate.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he can indicate expenditure under group water schemes, distinguishing between (a) moneys provided by applicants, (b) grants from his Department, and (c) contributions from local authorities.

To date, the total expenditure by my Department by way of grants for group schemes is £30,600. The information requested by the Deputy at (a) and (c) is not available.
