asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of each class of social insurance stamps sold in a recent year, the total number of stamps sold, and the yield of 1d. on the total sale of stamps, in the form of a reply of 21st March 1962.

The following table shows the number of each class of insurance stamps sold in the year ended 31st March, 1963, and the yield of 1d. on the total sale of stamps.

Contribution rates were increased on and from 2nd January, 1961, and again on and from 7th January, 1963. Some stamps at the old rates in respect of employment prior to 2nd January, 1961 were sold in the year ended 31st March, 1963.
