Vol. 204 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Dooks (Kerry) Lands.

30.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the estate comprising the Dooks golf links and adjoining lands, situated at Dooks, Glenbeigh, County Kerry, is about to be sold; and if the Land Commission will have the matter investigated with a view to having the lands acquired for the relief of congestion, for the preservation of the golf links as a local amenity and for the benefit of the tourist trade in general in the area.

31.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission will consider the propriety of acquiring the estate comprising the lands of the Dooks and Caragh Golf Club, Glenbeigh, County Kerry, to relieve congestion and preserve existing golfing and fishing amenities in the area; and if he is aware of the anxiety of the local people that the estate may be purchased by outsiders to the detriment of existing local rights and of the tourist industry which is of great benefit to the people of the area.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 30 and 31 together. The Deputies' representations have been noted and the Land Commission are having the property inspected.
