Vol. 204 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Cork Housing Schemes.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reason for the delay in the release of the sanction for the layout plans for housing schemes in South Cork, which have been a considerable time with his Department.

Layout plans for housing schemes at Blackrock and Rossa Avenue were submitted by Cork County Council on 27th March and 1st May last respectively with proposals for the acquisition of the sites on which the houses are proposed. It has been necessary to deal with certain aspects of the acquisition proposals before giving a decision on the layouts.

The acquisition of the site for 22 houses at Blackrock was approved on 19th June last, and a decision on the layout will issue as soon as possible. Final consideration of the proposal to acquire the site for 20 houses at Rossa Avenue is deferred, pending the receipt of technical reports and other information which the local authority has yet to submit.
