asked the Minister for Finance how many unestablished persons there are at present in the Civil Service.

The total number of unestablished civil servants on 1 January, 1963—the latest date for which statistics are available—was 9,480 of whom 3,966 are part-time officers.

Would the Minister say whether long-service temporary officers are included in the non-established ranks?

There are some.

Might the figure for unestablished officers be deemed to cover all long-term temporary officers?
