Extradition Bill, 1963—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend the law relating to extradition. —(Minister for Justice.)

Is the Minister prepared to state what the general purpose of this Bill is?

It is to revise, bring up to date and modernise our extradition arrangements with different countries.

No specific reference to codification?

It will amend the law.

Is there any intention to amend the law with regard to our extradition arrangements with Northern Ireland?
