Vol. 204 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Bog Right of Way.

49.

asked the Minister for Lands the reasons why the Land Commission did not provide a right of way from Stauntons turbary at Killadeer near Castlebar, County Mayo; if they are aware of the fact that removal of this turf crop is costing each of the allottees £4 10s. 0d. for the use of a passageway; and if the Land Commission will immediately rectify this matter.

Efforts to provide suitable access, on a voluntary basis, for users of this turbary proved unsuccessful. The Land Commission have, therefore, given notice of their intention to make a right of way Order in accordance with the provisions of the Land Acts. There will be no avoidable delay in bringing the matter to conclusion.
