Vol. 204 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Authority Medical Vacancies.

3.

asked the Minister for Health the procedure for filling local authority medical vacancies, pending the appointment of a permanent appointee.

I would refer the Deputy to a reply which I gave on 2nd July, 1963, to a similar question by Deputy Sir Anthony C. Esmonde.

4.

asked the Minister for Health when he proposes to fill the permanent medical post vacant for the last year and a half at Kenmare, County Kerry.

In reply to a previous question regarding the vacant medical post at Kenmare, County Kerry, I informed the Deputy, on 29th January, 1963, that the future organisation of the medical services in this area was under examination. This examination is taking longer than anticipated and my Department are still in correspondence with the health authority. I hope to be in a position to arrive at a decision in the near future in regard to the filling, on a permanent basis, of the medical post referred to.
