asked the Minister for Health if he will give particulars of health service charges mentioned in replies of 18th June, 1963.

Following is the information requested by the Deputy:—

Income of each health authority for the year ended 31st March, 1963, in respect of charges to persons who received services under Section 15 of the Health, Act, 1953, as ended.

NOTES:—

1. The figures shown above are subject to any revision that may be found necessary on audit.

2. The figures in respect of hospital services include charges at all levels up to the maximum of 10/- a day.

3. The excess of Col. (2) over Col. (3) in Table I represents charges for outpatient specialist services.

4. It should be appreciated that the figures in Table II relate only to Section 231A of the Mental Treatment Act, 1945, as amended. They do not include payments in respect of Wards of Court, amounting to £39,000 a year, approximately, or to receipts amounting to £137,000 a year approximately under Section 8 (1) of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1960 out of old age pensions payable in respect of patients.
