Statistics showing grading of tuberculosis cases were not compiled generally by health authorities in respect of the years prior to 1957. As from that year, health authorities were asked to furnish details of new cases of respiratory tuberculosis notified to them classified in accordance with the World Health Organisation Severity Classification, The relevant figures in respect of 1961, the latest year for which the information is available, are shown in the following table:
