The Consumer Price Index was last compiled in respect of mid-August, 1963, at which time the index was marginally below that for the previous inquiry at mid-May, 1963. The next compilation will relate to mid-November and will reflect any changes that will have occurred in retail prices since August.
As regards the last portion of the question, I would refer the Deputy to the reply given by the Minister for Finance to a similar question addressed to him in this House last Wednesday.
