Vol. 205 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pay Increases for Temporary Clerical Assistants.

5.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance when it is proposed to grant to temporary clerical assistants increases similar to those recently granted to permanent clerical assistants.

Claims for pay increases on behalf of temporary clerical assistants are appropriate to be dealt with through the Conciliation and Arbitration machinery for the civil service. In fact an agreed settlement was effected through that machinery in February, 1962, which gave these officers increases broadly in line with those recently granted to established clerk-typists.
