Vol. 205 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Subsidy.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government if the two-thirds contribution towards loan charges payable to local authorities under the Housing Act, 1948 includes (i) interest only, or (ii) principal and interest; and if the total cost of a housing scheme, including site price, development, etc., less grants payable, enters into the loan charges payable by his Department.

Housing subsidies are based on loan charges, in respect of interest and the repayment of principal, on foot of loans covering the all-in cost of dwellings, including the cost of site acquisition and development, subject to certain limits of capital costs per dwelling.
