Efforts by the Land Commission earlier this year to negotiate a voluntary purchase of this farm on the basis of payment in land bonds were unsuccessful.The property was subsequently sold by public auction but, as the provision of Section 27, Land Act, 1950, did not apply, a cash offer by the Land Commission was not feasible.
