Vol. 205 No. 10

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - North Dublin Traffic Lights and Crossings.

43.

Mr. Belton

asked the Minister for Local Government when traffic lights will be erected at the junction of Collins Avenue and Malahide Road, Dublin, as this matter has been referred by Dublin Corporation to the Garda authorities.

44.

Mr. Belton

asked the Minister for Local Government when uncontrolled pedestrian crossing will be provided on (a) Collins Avenue at Belton Park, Dublin, (b) Malahide Road at Donnycarney Road, and (c) Howth Road at the top of Castle Avenue, as this matter was referred to the Garda authorities by the Dublin Corporation.

I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 43 and 44 together. The provision of traffic lights or pedestrian crossings is a matter for the local authority at the request of or in agreement with the Garda Síochána. There are no proposals before my Department in relation to the sites to which the Deputy refers.

Mr. Belton

I am informed that representations have been sent to the Garda. Would the Minister tell us if there has been any decision in the matter?

Nothing has come to me so far.

Mr. Belton

This was six weeks ago.

I repeat that nothing has come to me on this matter.
