asked the Minister for Finance what Christmas relief or winter relief schemes will be sanctioned this year for Dún Laoghaire Borough, and the estimated number expected to be employed on these schemes.

Grants amounting to £3,500 have been authorised to Dún Laoghaire Borough Council for the following schemes estimated to cost £4,375:—

Development of open spaces at Brighton Vale, Seapoint, on the west side of the Martello Tower.

Widening and resurfacing of footways adjacent to the sea-wall from the eastern boundary of Dún Laoghaire Baths to a point opposite Islington Avenue.

It is expected that these schemes will give employment to an average of 16 men over a period of approximately 21 weeks.

asked the Minister for Finance what Christmas relief or winter relief schemes will be sanctioned this year for the Rathdown area, and the estimated number expected to be employed on them.

A grant amounting to £450 has been authorised to Dublin County Council towards an estimated expenditure of £600 on a road widening scheme at Stillorgan village.

It is expected that the scheme will give employment to an average of eight men for a period of five weeks.
