Vol. 206 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Killiney (Dublin) Development Works.

65.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the development works at Spring Hill Park, Killiney, County Dublin, referred to in a reply of 20th March, 1963, are still uncompleted; and that residents on the estate are being deprived of full normal services; if he is in a position to say when work will be carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As I pointed out in my reply of 20th March last to the Deputy's previous question regarding this estate, it is a matter for the Dún Laoghaire Corporation to decide on what action should be taken to require the developers to complete the development works referred to.

I understand that the principal works remaining to be completed to enable this estate to be taken in charge by the Corporation are the connection of Estate Road to Killiney Road and the laying of a concrete footpath around a bungalow at present under construction and that the developers are being pressed to have these works carried out.

If the developer has not entered into a bond with the local authority, is there any legal action they can take?

All I can tell the Deputy is that my information is rather optimistic in regard to certain negotiations that are taking place and I should not like anything said here to have any adverse effect on these negotiations.
