Vol. 206 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Turkey Shipments.

12.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he has received from any person or persons with practical experience of organised turkey marketing offers to explain in detail how easily licensed turkey exporters could give their British salesman each October accurate forecasts of the number of turkeys they will ship in the following December; and, if so, whether he intends to avail of all such offers, and when.

I receive many approaches of one kind or another from persons who believe they can provide easy solutions in matters of this kind. Naturally, I find that many approaches such as this cannot be entertained on practical grounds.

Has the Minister taken cognisance of and considered the suggestions of the advisory committee of a few years ago?

I told the House here that the Poultry Consultative Council had examined this whole matter and I gave, in fact, a quotation in one of my previous replies from the report which they made on this subject and the report, of course, has been circulated to all Deputies.

Circulation will not do us much good.
