Vol. 206 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of County Tipperary River.

25.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will have a scheme prepared for the drainage of the Ballyfinboy river, Cloughjordan, County Tipperary, which causes great hardship through flooding to the farmers adjoining it and deprives them of summer grazing.

26.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is proposed to carry out the drainage of Ballyfinboy River on the border of Tipperary and Offaly, which is of great concern to the landowners in both counties whose lands are subject to serious flooding from this river; if special priority will be given to this case in view of the large area affected; and if work can be carried out without delay.

I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 25 and 26 together.

The Ballyfinboy catchment will be considered in due course for a scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, but I cannot say when it will be reached.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary give an approximate date?

I am sorry.

This side of Tibb's Eve?
