Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Road Works.

55.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is in a position to state the mileage of road between Charlestown and Ballyhaunis improved during 1963, the total cost thereof and the name or names of the suppliers of the road-making materials used.

56.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is intended to surface-dress the road from Keenagh to the half-mile bridge at Bellacorick, County Mayo.

57.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that in County Mayo all contractors, except one, supplying road-making material to the county council are paid on a cubic yard basis while the excepted contractor receives payment on a tonnage basis; and if he will take steps to ensure that all such contractors receive payment is future on the basis of cubic yard measure, in view of the fact that a high water content increases the weight of such material.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 55, 56, and 57 together.

The information requested is being sought from Mayo County Council and will be supplied to the Deputy if he repeats his questions in due course.
