Vol. 206 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Voluntary Health Insurance.

9.

asked the Minister for Health the total number of persons availing themselves of the voluntary health insurance scheme in each of the years 1960, 1961 and 1962.

10.

asked the Minister for Health the average cost per head of those treated under the voluntary health insurance scheme in each of the years 1960, 1961 and 1962.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to deal with Questions Nos. 9 and 10 together.

Statistics are compiled by the Board in relation to its year of account which ends on 28th February, and not in relation to calendar years. Information of the nature requested in the question in relation to the years 1960/61, 1961/62 and 1962/63 is contained in page 16 of the Annual Report of the Board for year 1962/63 (Presentation Paper Pr 7130), a copy of which is in the Library.

For the Deputy's convenience, however, I am circulating with the Official Report, again with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, a table containing the information available.
