The following is the information furnished by Mayo County Council in respect of applications for entry on the General Medical Services Register under Section 14 of the Health Act, 1953, during the period from the introduction of the Register in 1954 up to 30th November, 1963.
(a) 18,988 applications received;
(b) 16,498 applications approved;
(c) 2,450 applications rejected;
(d) 40 applications were under consideration by the health authority on the 30th November, 1963.
