Vol. 206 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Protective Clothing for Temporary Postmen.

59.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange for the temporary supply of protective clothing for temporary postmen appointed for the Christmas period.

Arrangements already exist for the supply to local controlling officers of waterproof capes for use by temporary postmen on outdoor duty during the Christmas period.

I am glad to hear it. Is the Minister aware there were many temporary postmen last year who did not get these capes?

The Deputy has a peculiar way of putting it. Is the Deputy certain they asked for them or needed them?

The weather was very bad last year.

The waterproof capes and other protective clothing are supplied to the controlling officer and are there for the postmen.

If a temporary postman asks for these——

He should have no difficulty in getting them.
