Vol. 206 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment of Business Consultants.

77.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice whether the services of any outside firms of business consultants, efficiency experts, organisation and methods advisors or such like were engaged by his Department, or by any authority for which his Department are responsible, within the last six years; and, if so, if he will state the number of persons so employed, and the cost and duration of their employment.

A firm of business consultants who had been similarly engaged by my Department in 1952 and in 1956, was employed on two separate occasions in the past 6 years; on one occasion the duration of the engagement was 34 weeks at a cost of £5,339 and on the other the period was 5 days at a cost of £157.

On the adjournment, I propose to raise the subject matter of Question No. 18 on yesterday's Order Paper.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.
