Vol. 207 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin City Housing Provision.

58.

asked the Minister for Local Government what proposals he has in mind to speed up the provision of houses in Dublin city.

In the course of recent discussions with Dublin Corporation, I made suggestions which would increase their housing output. I do not propose to comment on these suggestions until the Corporation has fully considered them.

Would the Minister make any proposals for speeding up the members of the Housing Committee of the Corporation?

That is not a function of mine, I should think, in the ordinary way. I do not agree with the implication in the suggestion, if it was intended to be a sensible one, and we will leave it at that.

Question No. 59.

I heard a voice; the sound seems to be in the wilderness.

I wish somebody would hear my voice.

That is in the wilderness.

I do, which is more than can be said of others.
