Vol. 207 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballycroy (Mayo) Vocational School.

23.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that it has been decided by Mayo Vocational Education Committee that a two-roomed school should be erected in Ballycroy, County Mayo in accordance with the wishes of the people of that area; and if he will take steps to ensure that such a school will be erected there.

My Department has received and considered a proposal from the committee to provide a two-roomed vocational school at Ballycroy.

I have authorised the committee to provide a school with one room of a dual purpose type which will be suitable for both Woodwork and Domestic Science classes.

I am satisfied that this arrangement, apart from being more economical, will meet adequately the needs of the area.
