Vol. 207 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford City Garda Station.

27.

asked the Minister for Justice when approximately the new Garda Station in Waterford City will be completed; the number of officers and men to be stationed there; and what living accommodation will be made available in the building (a) for married Gardaí and (b) for unmarried Gardaí.

The Commissioners of Public Works hope to have the contract for this station placed by the end of this year and expect that building operations will be completed within approximately 18 months from then. It is not the intention to provide for living accommodation in these premises. The strength to be provided will comprise one chief superintendent, one superintendent, two inspectors, 13 sergeants and 45 gardaí.
