Vol. 208 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clonmel Housing.

37.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he expects to come to a decision regarding the Clonmel Corporation compulsory purchase (Oldbridge area) order submitted to him for approval; and whether, owing to the urgent need for housing in the area, he will expedite approval of the order.

The Clonmel Corporation Compulsory Purchase (Oldbridge Area) Order, 1963, was submitted to me for confirmation on 7th January, 1964. An examination of the Order disclosed discrepancies which require that the corporation must give further public notice of the making of the Order. The corporation have been advised accordingly. When all the statutory requirements have been complied with by the corporation, it will be necessary to hold a public local inquiry in relation to the Order.

Could the Minister say when these discrepancies came to his notice and when the Corporation were informed of them?

I am afraid I cannot give that offhand, but I can get the information.

That is what the Deputy would do.
