Vol. 208 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Loughshinny Harbour Toilet Facilities.

39.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of proposals by Dublin County Council to provide toilet facilities at Loughshinny Harbour; and whether the local authority intends to provide this essential facility before the coming summer holiday period.

I understand that Dublin County Council have in mind the provision of a public sanitary convenience at Loughshinny when piped water supply and sewerage facilities have been installed in the village. It is not anticipated that such facilities will be available for the coming holiday season.

Is the Minister aware that I asked this question approximately 12 months ago and it was then indicated that, pending the arrival of the fabled and legendary North County Dublin water supply scheme adumbrated 20 years ago, an effort would be made to provide elementary toilet facilities at Loughshinny pier by the use of sea water? Would he have a look at this matter again?

I shall look at it again.
