Vol. 208 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Carlow Estate.

51.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is proposed to divide the lands on the Oak Park Estate, Carlow, during the coming year; if it is proposed to have the lands let to local interested parties; and if he has any indication as to when the lands will be divided amongst the local deserving applicants.

Of 1,563 acres comprised in this estate, a total of 1,087 acres has been allotted and it is hoped to make further allocations, aggregating about 50 acres, shortly.

As it was unlikely that the balance of the property could be allotted before next year, lettings have been made for the current season.

Will the Minister state if former employees of this estate have got preference in the divisions which have taken place already and if those remaining will get preference in regard to the land yet to be divided?

I am sorry I have not before me any information in connection with the allottees who received land on this estate.

Would it not be the ordinary rule?

I shall raise the question again.

It would be a separate question.
