Vol. 208 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - East Cork Estates.

53.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission will have the following estates examined with a view to acquisition and division amongst uneconomic holders and congests: (a) John Good, Ballintubbrid, Carrigtwohill, at present held by an alien, (b) Ballynona, Midleton, held by the same alien, and (c) Finure Estate, Rostellan at present held by Alfred Von Harder.

The Land Commission have recently decided to proceed for acquisition of the two properties referred to at (a) and (b) in the question. Owners' solicitors have been informed accordingly and the relevant statutory notices will be published at an early date.

As regards the estate at (c), certain dealings are pending in relation to this property but for the present they must be treated as confidential.
