Vol. 208 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - UN Congo Operation: Cost of Irish Participation.

25.

asked the Minister for Defence the total cost to date to the State of the Irish participation in the United Nations operation in the Congo; and the estimated future cost of such participation.

It is not practicable to give the total cost to date, to the State, of the Irish participation in the United Nations operations in the Congo or to estimate future costs. The United Nations however bears all expenditure which would not have arisen in the normal course if the troops had not been made available for Congo service.
