Newspaper Report: Question of Privilege. - Courts Bill, 1963: Instruction to Committee—Motion.

I move Motion No. 6 on the Order Paper:

That it be an instruction to the Committee on the Courts Bill, 1963, that it has power to make provision in the Bill in relation to (a) the transfer of trials in criminal cases by judges of the Circuit Court, and (b) the service of Court documents by post.

The necessity for this motion arises from the fact that amendments Nos. 5 and 6 to the Bill introduce new matters which are not related to any provisions of the Bill as it went through the Second Stage. Paragraph 2 of Standing Order 96 allows the Committee of this House to meet the position by a motion such as this.
