Vol. 209 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inland Revenue Affidavit Forms.

8.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance why Inland Revenue Affidavit Forms A4R are not available at the Estate Duty Office; and if they are out of print (a) when they went out of print, (b) why they went out of print, (c) why steps were not taken to replenish depleted stocks before they were exhausted, (d) when the forms will again be available, and (e) what steps will be taken to prevent a recurrence in future.

Owing to depletion of stocks, Inland Revenue Affidavit Forms A4R have not been available in the Estate Duty Branch since March. The more comprehensive form of affidavit, Form A1R, which, without adaptation, may be used instead of Form A4R, has been and is still available.

I may say that, in order to meet the wishes of the Incorporated Law Society, the question of the size and number of the forms of Inland Revenue Affidavit has been under review in the Estate Duty Branch with the object of producing a composite single form of affidavit. The preparation of the redesigned form has taken longer than expected. It was, therefore, necessary to place an urgent order for a limited supply of Form A4R, but unforeseen printing delays have held up delivery. It is expected, however, that supplies will be available before the end of this week.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say when we may expect to see the new form?

Before the end of this week.

The new one?
