Dáil Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 6 May 1964

Vol. 209 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Prices Tribunal.

20.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will constitute a prices tribunal before which manufacturers and others must submit their case for increased prices, in order to avoid wages and salaries chasing prices to the detriment of citizens living on fixed income, of citizens who are not members of a trade union, of those in the social welfare group and of the economy generally.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a similar question in Dáil Éireann on the 5th March, 1964, volume 208, No. 3, column 432 of the Dáil Debates and also to my replies to questions on control of prices on 23rd October, 1963, volume 205, columns 47 to 51.
