asked the Minister for Justice how many fatal road accidents were reported to the Garda Síochána during the periods (a) 1st January to 31st March, 1963, and (b) 1st January to 31st March, 1964; and if he will state the total number of persons fatally injured in each period.

The figures are as follows:—Quarter ended 31st March, 1963, 53 fatal accidents; 58 persons killed. Quarter ended 31st March, 1964, 72 fatal accidents; 77 persons killed.
