Vol. 209 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - BEA Shannon-Dublin Service.

33.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if an application for permission to operate scheduled passenger services from Shannon to Britain and the Continent, has been made by BEA; and, if so, if such permission has been granted, or is likely to be granted.

No application for permission to operate such a service has so far been made to me. I understand, however, that BEA have made an application to the British Air Transport Licensing Board for a licence to operate a scheduled passenger service on the London-Shannon route as from 1st April, 1965. If the grant of a licence is approved by the British Minister of Aviation, he will, no doubt, initiate an approach to me for the grant of operating rights under the terms of the air agreement between the two countries.
