Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda Síochána Retirement Regulations.

49.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will give favourable consideration to amending the regulations governing retirement from the Garda Síochána so as to enable members who hold a medal without bar to continue serving until they reach the retiring age of sixty-five years.

The question of amending the Garda Retirement Regulations to enable members who hold medals without bar to serve to 65 years has been considered on a number of occasions and it has been decided that such a concession could not be granted.
