With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 10 and 11 together.

Recommendations Nos. 388 and 389 of the Consultative Assembly are still under consideration in the Committee of Ministers and accordingly it is not possible at this stage to state what the attitude of the Government to these matters will be.

What are they about?

They are on the Table of the House. They are lengthy resolutions.

12.

asked the Minister for External Affairs what is the attitude of the Government with regard to Recommendation No. 390 on European Political Union, which was adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on 23rd April, 1964; and what action the Government have taken, or contemplate taking, on it.

Recommendation No. 390 was considered by the Ministers' Deputies at their meeting early in June and they decided to take no action on the matter.
