Vol. 212 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Housing Grants.

11.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that Cork Corporation and applicants for housing repair and reconstruction grants in the Corporation area are perturbed by the long delays experienced in payment of grants; and what will be done to speed up payment.

I am not so aware, and I do not agree that the present position is as stated by the Deputy.

12.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give details of the number of applications for housing reconstruction and repair grants in the Cork Corporation area outstanding on 31st August, 1964; and the average period which elapsed between the date of application for grants and payment of them.

Statistics are kept of the number of grants allocated in each county every month, but the numbers and dates of applications for such grants are not tabulated separately for each local government area. I regret that it is therefore not possible to supply figures on the lines requested.
