Vol. 212 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Persons in Condemned Houses in Cork City.

17.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of persons at present residing in condemned houses in Cork city; and the approximate date upon which it is expected that all such persons will be rehoused.

The information is not available in the precise form requested by the Deputy. A report prepared by the housing authority in February last showed that, apart from other needs, there were 767 families living in slum clearance areas or in individual unfit dwellings. On the 30th September last, the housing authority had 365 dwellings under construction, had acquired or was in course of acquiring sites for approximately 880 dwellings and was considering the acquisition of sites for a further 800 dwellings.
