Vol. 212 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Earnings of Forestry Workers

67.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is a fact that labourers supervised by foresters are in receipt of larger earnings than their qualified supervisory officers; and if so, what he proposes to do about the matter.

Young foresters on first appointment may earn slightly less than forest workers but their scales of pay are in no way related and no anomaly arises. The same situation is common in industry.

Foresters' salaries are at present under review and will come up for discussion at Departmental Conciliation Council this week.
