Vol. 213 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - PAYE Form.

13.

asked the Minister for Finance if it is the case that under the operation of PAYE a form No. P94 may be sent to a married woman asking for details of her husband's employment, income, premises, etc.

The form P94 is issued to new employees. It is designed to ascertain particulars of the employee's previous employments and, in the case of a married woman, details of her husband's place of employment or business. This latter information is necessary to ensure that the correct allowances will be made to the married woman and the correct tax deductions made from her salary or wages. The form does not ask for details of the husband's income.
