Vol. 213 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork National Health Claims.

20.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will consider reorganising the National Health Section of the Cork Employment Exchange with a view to having claims dealt with at local level and cheques issued locally so as to obviate any unnecessary delay in dealing with claims from Cork city.

It is not proposed to alter the existing arrangements for dealing with benefit claims from persons in the Cork city area. I am not aware that there is any undue delay in the payment of benefit to claimants in this area but if the Deputy will furnish me with particulars of any cases in which he considers that delay has occurred, I will have the matter investigated.
