asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give in respect of the three most recent years for which particulars are available information regarding road fund allocations and the amount allocated to each local authority in the form of a reply of 9th May, 1956, with the addition of railway road grants.

In so far as the question relates to the years 1962/63 and 1963/64, I would refer the Deputy to my replies of 14th March, 1963 and 24th October, 1963.

For the year 1964/65, the information is in the form of a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:

*The amounts included in these figures for the Main Road Upkeep Grant are estimates.

NOTE: The scheme of grants for dealing with road problems arising from railway closings, which was introduced in 1959-60 for a five year period, terminated with the grants allocated for the year, 1963-64.
