Vol. 213 No. 3

Written Answer. - Garda Holders of Service Medals.

102.

asked the Minister for Justice the name, rank and station of each member of the Garda Síochána now serving who holds a Service (1917-1921) Medal with Bar.

I have not got information as to the members of the Force who actually hold 1917/21 Medals with Bar but the number of those who are entitled to extended service by virtue of the fact that they hold 1916 medals, or 1917/21 Medals with Bar or Service Certificates in respect of military service prior to 12th July, 1921 is 79, and are made up as follows:

one Deputy Commissioner,

four Chief Superintendents,

four Superintendents,

two Inspectors,

seventeen Sergeants,

fifty-one Gardaí.
